Abraham Lincoln Assassinated
Lincoln went to Ford's Theatre at the same time John Wilkes went. Wilkes shot Lincoln in the head that morning.Abraham Lincoln died at 7:22AM. -
13 Ammendment Ratified
The 13th ammendment ratified slavery. Many southerners hated it and were forced by the congress to ratify the 13th ammendment. Congree kept slaves working on the feilds after it was ratified. -
14th Ammendment Ratified
The 14th ammendment gave equal rights to all citizens accept Native Americans. Congress disagreed and ratified this ammendment. Southerners also hated the 14 ammendment. They wanted to keep the slaves for farming and working on the feilds. -
Henry McNeal Turner elected to Senate
A man named Turner was in the army. Later, he was elected state senator. After that, he promoted land and ownership to all citizens. Many citizens loved him as the staes senate. -
15th Ammendment
This ammendment granted all male citizens the right to vote. Eventually, four states ratified this ammendment: Georgia, Mississippi, Virginia, and Texas. All staes forced by Congress to do so. -
Georgia Readmitted to the Union
Georgia was readmitted to the union. The Democrats gained control on Legislature. A few years later in 2003, Sonny took office. The Legislature did npt want control but, they had no power to stop it. -
Election of Rutherford B. Hayes
Hayes and Tilden were trying to run for office. Hayes wanted to win so badly, that he made a deal with 3 states in the south. Henry and Tilden had the same number of votes, and because of the deal, Henry won the election.
