At Fords theatre, John Wikes Booth shot Lincoln while he attended a played. Booth fled & was later caught & killed. Lincoln was the first U.S.President to be assassinated. -
13 Amendment
The amendent outlawed slavery and had to be by southern states rejion. State had write new constitution war dedt and secession. -
14 Amendment
Fourteenth Amendment made all people born U.S. citizens. Southern states had to pass this amendment to rejoin the union -
Henry McNeal Turner elected to Senate
Henry McNeal Turner was one of the first Afican-Americans to serve in georgia's goernment after the civil war .He was a preacher from bibb country, Georgia. Many white men did not like him for his radical positions. -
15 Amendment
This amendment guaranteed all male citizens vote. Any male races, color, or previous could vote. Southren states to pass this amendment rejoin the union -

The Georgia legislature ratified the 15th amendment and congress officially readmitted Georgia to the union. All federal troops left Georgia. Democrats took control of Georgia's government. -
