    President Abraham Lincoln was shot in the back of his head during a play at a theater by John Wilkes Booth. On April 15th he was pronounced dead in a home near the theatre.

    The 13th amendment which abolishes slavery for anybody and any race in the us was ratified. Georgia was the first state to ratify the amendment, this meant that slavery would cease to exist on U.S soil.
