Laws designed to help control the newly freed African Americans. Some of these laws made it illegal to own farms.The most extreme is if African Americans did not have job, officals could fine or even arrest them. -

The 14th Amendment
The 14th Amendment states that all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. This was the law passed after the 13th Amendment which freed the slaves. That was the 14th Amendment. -
The 15th Amdendment
The 15th Amdendment said that to vote, it didn't matter waht race or color you are. This was a major step during the Reconstruction Acts. That was the 15 Amdendment. -
Reconstruction Acts
The first Reconstruction Act said that those states to form new government. The second Reconstruction Act was different empowering the millitary to give votes in each district to help organize things.
