    Black Codes
    In 1866 legislatures in southern states passed a law called Balck Codes. These law was to designed to help control freed Africans Americans. These law made it easy for white workers to take advantages of African Americans workers. How this relates to race is because everybody was equale.

    Civil Rights Act of 1866
    To action the black codes, Radical Republicans pushed the Civil Rights Act of 1866 through congress. This law gave federal government power to get involved in state affairs to proctect African Amercans' rights. It also to gave them their citiznship. How this relates to African American is that they could now have their own rights.

    Reconstruction Acts (First and Second)
    The First Reconstruction Act, is known as the Military Reconstruction Act, that is passed into law on 1867 over the veto of President Johnson. This act divided the 10 states into five miliary districts. Each state was governed by an army gernral until new state government was made. I am not sure how this relates to race but it could be that it helping people get own rights. The second reconstruction act said that military commander held power to vote.     14th Amendment
    The 14th Amendment is legislation in the US that was approve on the 9th of July 1868. The legislation grants citizenship to all persons born or naturalized in the United States. It also forbids states from denying any person's life, or property, without a due process of law. How this relates to race is that they are getting the right to do this.
  • 15th Adendment

    15th Adendment
    The 15th amendment protects the rights of Americans to vote in elections to elect their leaders. Specifically, it explain the right to vote and lists conditions that are illegal to deny another person the right to vote. Any American cannot say no to the right to vote, based on race, and color. Also how this relates to race is becasue they have the right to vote now.
