Freedmen's Bureau Act
Helped out the freed slaves and war refugees. It helped them with education, and medicals aid etc. -
Civil RIghts Act
Granted citizenship and equal protection under the law of African Americans. Same rights as white men. -
Reconstruction Act of 1867
Abolished governments formed in the former Confederate states.Also it set up requirements for readmissiom to the Union. -
Johnson Impeached
Radicalleaders felt that Johnson was not carrying out his consitutional obligation to enforce the Reconstruction Act. He was impeached on 11 articles of ompeachment. -
Fourteenth Amendement
Everyone born or naturalized in the U.S. citizens. People that prevented male citizens from voting would lose a percentage of their congressional office. -
Fifteenth Amendment
ENabled blacks the right to vote. States that no one can be kept from voting no matter the race, color or previous condition of servitude. -
Fifteenth Amendemnt
Allowed backs to be abke to vote. It states that no on can be kept from voting because of "race, color, or previous condition of servitude. -
Enforcement Act of 1870
This gave the federal government power to enforce the Fifteenth Amendement. Also protected the voting rights of African Americans.
