Ku Klux Klan
The Ku Klux Klan was a secret society back in the South. The original clan was founded back in Pulaski, Tennessee on December 24th, 1865 during the Reconstruction Era following the Civil War. 15th Amendment
The Fifteenth Amendment protects the voting rights of all citizens regardless of race or the color of their skin. It also protected the voting rights of former slaves. There were some sections from the Constitution regarding how it worked. The reason why there was another Amendment to follow is because after the Civil War, amendments were added to the Constitution in order to free the slaves. -
Reconstruction Ends
Much of the Southern United States was destroyed during the Civil War. Many farms and plantations were burned down and their crops destroyed. Also, many people had Confederate money which was now completely worthless and the local governments were in shambles. The South definitely needed top be rebuilt. The rebuilding of the South after the Civil War is called the reconstruction, which lasted from 1865 to 1877. The purpose of it was to help the south become apart of the union.
