    * The regulation of conditions of freedmen (black labor)
    * The administration of justice in cases concerning the the black freemen
    * In reality, the Freedmen´s Bureau also organized the black vote in the South for the Republican party
  • President Lincoln is Assassinated

    President Lincoln is Assassinated
    President Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865 by John Wilkes Booth. He was the first president of the United States to be assassinated. When the play reached a point where there was a big joke and the audience laughed loudly, John Wilkes Booth entered president Lincoln´s box and shot him in the back of his head.

    The Reconstruction Act officially ended under the presidency of Rutherford B. Hayes in 1877. He removed the federal troops from the South and the state governments took over;however, most of the changes to equal rights were immediately reversed.
