Poll Taxes End
Poll taxes were taxes that voters had to pay. These were used to keep African Americans from voting. If they wanted to vote they had to pay. In 1864 this was ended by the 24th ammendment. -

Andrew Jhonson was Impeached
After Lincon died vice president Jhonson became prsident. Many people were outraged with Jhonson's actions. The House of Representatives voted to impeach him. He was the first president to be impeached. -
Civil Rights Act
The Civil Rights Act gave African Americans full rights and enjoyment. It also states that no one can be denied acess to places Americans can go. Also, if tey had to pay a price if this requirement was broken. -
Grandfather Clause
This prohibited freed slaves from voting. This made it so that if your grandfather voted so could you. You also had to be a male to vote. -
