Realism
Realsim took reality to be its subject. Line, light, and other elements were still manipulated but they were not used to idealize or romanticize subjects as had been done in the past. Painters chose common, simmple, mundane scenes as their subjects and depicted them realistically. The paintings created were anti-Bourgise. -

Workers around Europe revolted due to poor conditions and bad treatment. -
Marx Publishes his Communist Manifesto
Marx and Engles published thier Communist Manifesto which predicted the uprising of workers and advocated a classless society and worker control of production among other things. -
Second Republic of France founded
The restored Monarchy of France was overthrown and the Second Republic which took Liberty, Equality, and Brotherhood to be its motto. -
