Guglielmo Marconi was born on April 25, 1874, in Italy. He was an italian inventor. He sent and received the first radio signal in 1895, though many people didn't think so. He's known for long-distance radio transmission. -

The radio had a huge impact on the Titanic. Without a radio, none of the people on the Titanic would've been saved. A lot of lives were saved, and the radio did it! -

The first ever commercial radio station was KDKA. It was once called 8XK, but was later renamed KDKA. Frank Conrad is known as the father of radio broadcasting. -

Some people may ask, "How does the radio make money?" The radio made money in 1922, by the WEAF airing a 10 minute commercial. They would even have a toll broadcast, that made apartment complex's pay up to $50. -

The radio had a major change to becoming on TV. It was very different from the radio. Everyone's perspective was different. Some people may have had a perspective of what they thought a person/character may have looked like, and it got changed because the TV show was made by someone totally different. -

Uncle Charlie got too popular. They established the FRC in 1927. They were becoming strict, and even organized licensing for transmitters. -

Radio kept growing and growing the older that it got. There was talk on am and music on fm. The FM Transmitter was invented. It made the quality better. -

During the Golden Era, was also the Great Depression. This was in the 30's and 40's. It didn't own station's in 1934. It's when the radio started it's popularity. -

There were many famous shows during the Golden Era. There was Superman, Amos n Andy, and many others. And it just kept growing from there. -

Uncle Charlie
All sorts of people were creating their own radio stations to be heard by relatives, friends, etc. That created a lot of conflict. There were to many stations to be able to separate them on the radio. Charlie had his own radio station. Anyone who was listening wouldn't be able to listen anymore, because other people were listening to the radio as well. -
Radio Impact on Family
Everyone in the family can enjoy the radio. It was nice to just relax and hang out with your family. You can do different things, but still listen to it all together.
