    The Great Depression and War during this time period caused depression in the US. Radio became a way for people to be entertained, thus causing the diversity of radio shows to explode. Radio shows contained content such as music, comedy, shows, plays, and dramas. The major shows of the Golden Era were Amos and Andy, Gunsmoke, Superman, and Little Orphan Annie.
