  • Marconi

    Marconi an Italian Inventer invents radio waves. In 1894 he sends and recieves radio signals.
  • Marconi Creates

    Marconi the inventer builds a radio that played between England and France. This was a huge deal to the average citizens, because that haven't seen an invention like this one.
  • Marconi Invents

    Marconi wanted to spread his radio station further than the local city. He invents the first radio antennae.
  • First radio bradcast

    The word of this great invention called the radio was spreading. In 1906 the first radio broadcast of voice and music was aired around the U.S.
  • Radio Communications

    Radio in gaining alot of publicity at this point. in 1910 the captin of the Montrose alrerts Scottland of an escaping criminal via radio.
  • Shortwave

    In 1914 Shortwave Radio is invented. ShortWave radio communication using the MF and HF portion of the radio spectrum.
  • RCA is invented

    Also in 1914 the RCA is invented. Radio Cooperation of America, this is was an American electronic company.
  • KDKA

    In 1920 KDKA broadcast the first radio licensed radio coradcast out of Pittsburg. This radio station is still in use today.
  • RCA

    In 1921 RCA starts braodcasting in Long island. The company doing this allowed them to spread their company to many parts of the world.
  • NYC radio

    In 1920 WRNY a radio station in New York starts braodcasting TV shows on the radio. This gave people a different outlook on radio, it allowed them to spread there imagination and give them something to listen to when nothing else is playing.
  • TV !!

    In 1945 the first television is invented. This allowed people to listen and watch the stories that the heard on the radio.
  • TV stations

    in 1946 tv stations were invented. This let people pick and chosewhat they wanted to watch, when the want to.
  • SMALL RADIO?

    In 1952 Sony invents the first small radio transmitter. This made radio mobile, so people could always listen to their music.
  • FCC approves FM

    In 1961 the FCC approves FM waves. FM waves gave listeners a better sound when they are listening to their programs.
  • United States

    In 1962 the USA begins broadcasting steographic sound. This gave listeners a even better sound out of the radio
