    This was made to tell the location of the radio station. K in the beginning of the name of the station represented that it was located to the west of the mississippi river. which W ment that the radio station was east of the mississippi river.
  • First Radio Station

    A station that is still in use in Pittsburg, Penn. it was created by Frank Conrad. the radio station first was 8XK but changed to KDKA.
  • First commercial aired

    for the first time WEAF made a 10 minute commercial for a apartment complex that was made in New York. they charged $50 for the airtime.

    Was established to organize transmitters so that Uncle Charlie stations would stop interfearing with their radio broadcasts. There were too much so it made people have to have a licsense in order to have a radio station.

    A Time period after the war and during the Great Depression. it was an escape from reality and a time where people just relaxed and listened to their radios and made everything better.

    Advertisers leave radio since everyone was moving to tv and enjoying that much more. Advertsers were loosing money due to the lack of people listening to it. The tv pretty much ran the radio out of buisness just like cars did to horses.
