    Marconi invented radio in 1895-today. He was an italian entrepreneur, business man and the founder of the Wireless Telegraph and signal company in 1897.

    Lee De Forest
    Lee De Forest was an american inventor who created audio tube which is a vacuum tube that amplified signals. This was also known as a three element "Grid Audio" . He had a limited understanding of how it worked or was supposed to be used but, he provided the foundation of the vacuum tube technology.

Between 1910 and 1920 Lee De Forest improved his Audion as a detector, an amplifier, and later a transmitter of radio. This was the foundation of radio and without this invention radio would'nt be created this early

    Frank Conrad
    Frank Conrad was an electrical engineer and was well known by his work as a pioneer broadcaster at Westinghouse Electrical and Manufacturing company. The company still lives today in Pittsburg Pennsylvania. He invented 8XK and then renamed it KDKA in 1920 and these stations allowed us to listen to the radio.

    "W" East of Mississippi "K" West of Mississippi. In North America, they are used for all FCC licensed transmitters. Because there was only one telegraph line linking all railroad stations, there needed to be a way to address each one.

    Television was invented September 7th, 1927. Since radio played shows and wasn't much of a factor anymore since TV had been invented, radio decided to play music only and drop the shows.

    FRC was established in 1927 and required people to have a license to have a station. This was much needed because of all the people who were broadcasting on the radio.

    Different categories were invented which where only AM and FM. AM waves meant amplitude modulation and was, more for talk shows and had 535 KHz-1605 KHz. AM radio was a major help during all the big events and the wars that were occurring during this time period. Many people relied on AM radio to get information and accurate facts about there community.

    FM waves meant frequency modulation and was more for music purposes and it had 88-108 MHz. This was the most popular one and was mostly helpful. FM Radio was a major factor in everyday life and helped people relax.

    The Golden Era was the time period in which radio got destroyed by the TV invention and almost no one was listening to the radio to listen to shows, it could all be watched and heard on Television. Radio then decided to just play music instead of shows so that you could strictly just watch shows on TV and listen to music on the radio.

    Pandora was offendly more popularly used then radio mostly because of the fact that on Pandora you had more freedom and if you wanted to listen to a certain artist you could, by just typing it in. On radio you had no control over what was played and you were stuck with whatever the broadcaster wanted to play on the station, you could only determine what genre of music you wanted to listen to.

    During sea travel, it wasn't common for people to be able to listen to the radio, because of the signals. Signals were only on land and if you were not on land then you wouldn't be able to listen to the radio.
