  • 1st signal

    Guglielmo Marconi was the Physicist who supposedly invented radio. He sent the first radio signal an astonishing 2.4 kilometers during the summer of 1895. Marconi was awarded the nobel peace prize for his historical contribution.
  • Amplifier

    Lee De Forest supposedley invented the first radio amplifier. it allows radio messages to be transmitted further. He called himself the "Father of Radio". It is believed that Forest did not actually invent the amplifier but, a Canadian man named Reginald Fessenden.
  • Titanic

    The usage of radio on ocean vessles and ships had become widespread. When the titanic sunk, the radio transmissions saved over 700 lives. Radio became even more popular after this occurance.
  • AM (Amplitude Modulation)

    Have you ever wondered what AM stands for on your radio? well now you know! Amplitude modualation is changing the formation of the height of the radio waves. this is now only used for talking since FM has more clarity in its sound.
  • 1st radio station

    8XK was the first ever radio station created! The name was later changed to be KDKA, and it is still used toda in Pittsburg Pennsylvania. Frank Conrad was the creator of the first radio station.
  • Uncle charles

    Uncle Charlie was another name used for personal or independent Radio Stations. Anyone withthe money and equipment for a radio station could create one. Broadcasting personal stations became a big problem later on in their time.
  • 1st ad.

    The first Advertisement Broadcasted over the radio was done by the radio company known as WEAF. WEAF advertised Queensboro Corporation, sell an Apartment complex. it is said that their were other advertisements before this one but WEAF's was the first to ever be recorded.
  • Federal Radio Commisson

    The Federal radio comission was a governmental body created due to the accesive amount of Uncle Charlies (Personal radio stations). Advertiser continued to complain about Uncle Charlies taking over their frequencies and not allowing them to commercialize their products. They were spending money for nothing and the were genuinely upset.
