He showed the existence of radio waves without having to prove it through math. -
Wireless telegraphing system
Marconi inrouduces the idea of a wireless telegrpahing system using Hertz waves. This is considered the first invention of a radio system made for communication. -

Also let the AM station be used by multiple radio stations so all could be heard. Early inventions did not allow this to happen. -
De Forest Invents the triode
Copied Flemings diode. Even though he originally had the triode had patents in 05-07 it was said it was in 06. Originally used to be detector. The device wasn't understood so never used full potential. -

First aired in Wisconsin in moorse code. -
Amplyfiying Vaccum Tubes revolutionize
The company Westinghouse engineers developed them. Before this, people used a thing called the crystal set. Some early radios used other types of amplification through battery or other sources. -
E.W. Scripps broadcasted
The company E.W. Scripps were handed their license and started to air. It has developed a schedule of broadcasting to the present. At this time boradcasting was not yet sponsored by companies. -
2LO & the BBC
Marconi made a station in London . Later made a broadcasting company and became 2LO. Only covered about 40 miles. Later the coverage was greatly increased. -

Sony Introduced first transister radio
Made the first radio small enough to fit in a pocket and ran off of batteries. Was made durable because no tubes were included in it to burn out, Over next couple years, transister radios almsot wipe out the entire idea of tubes. -

People in music business allow customers to download music without pay or copyright fees. Later goes to court to stop producing free music and to unite with the business to provide music with a price. -

People stopped purchasing cds and online albums and instead buy vinyls. The sale of vinys increase by 33.5% for the year.
More vinyls were purchased in this year than any other year
