    Liszt conducts the first performance of his symphonic poems in Weimar. symphonic poems is an orcheastal work in one movement and based on a literay idea.
  • FM transmitter

    Edwin Armstrong invented the FM Transmitter. The Transmitter made a stronger signal and higher quality sound. It was so good that listerners just had to buy new radios.
  • Audion Tube

    Lee De Forest created the audion tube. The Audion Tube is basically an Amplier that we currently have in our Radios.
  • Radio Stations

    Radio Stations first started in 1920. Frank Conrad invented the radio station. It was first called 8XK it was later renamed KDKA. Today that radio station is being broadcasted in Pitttsburg, PA.
  • Radio Advertising

    in 1922 WEAF aired a 10 min commercial or toll braodcast. They charged $50.
  • FRC

    Uncle Charlie people which is used for persoanl radio stations, estabiled FRC in 1927. FRC organized the licensing of transmitter. It also assigned radio station frequencies, call letters, and power limits.
  • First Commercial In-Car radio

    The Galvin brothers madde the first commerical in- car radio. It was an $130 unit. It was also the first product to wear the Motorala name.
  • Edward Roscoe Murrow

    Murrow was hired by CBS in 1935. While workin in NYC he did his first boradcoast under Robert Trout, who was an established new boradcaster.
  • Multiple report pick up broadcast

    Jordan was a NBC European Correspodnet. He partcipaited in the first multiple report pick up broadcast. It was a stunt bought together by European boradcasting officals in seprate airplans over the Atlantic Coast
  • War of the Worlds

    Orson Welles directed the War of the Worlds it was basically an adaption of the classic novel of The War of the Worlds. t was performed on Hawllowen night, a live 60 minture broadcast.
  • First Music on Demand

    Chrysler offered a small turntable in its high end cars. It played seven inch records with 46 mintutes of music.

    Becker's Europa was the first in car stereo setup. Their was a tuner amplyifying two channels instead of one.
  • First Factory installed in dash CDplayer

    Becker Mexico compact disk was the first to be factory installed in a Benzes. Sony introudced an in-dash player the previous year.

    Vinyl sales increase while CD's decreased. For six consecutive years the music industry had an increase in vinyl sales. More vinyl albums were purcahsed in 2013 more then any other year since Nielson SoundScan.
