In 1922 Weaf aired a 10 minute commercial. The commercial was about an apartment complex charging 50$. That the first commercial aired on radio. -

Thanks to Edwin Armstrong FM was music. AM was talk-shows, and comedys. Armstromg demonstrated in 1924 advantages of FM radio. -
FRC
Established FRC (Federal Radio Communication) in 1927. It was used to stop Uncle Charlies. Uncle Charlies were single radio stations for just ordinary people. -

Golden era was when radio was everything. Peoples washing machine would break but they would save up for a radio instead. For some this time was during the great depression and radio was a way to escape. -

Newer technologies have decreased radio traffic. Apps such as pandora, spotify, youtube, and Itunes. The whole community of radio hasn't died yet. -

Radio stations charge for commercials that's how they make money. Todays cost for commercials is a couple grand for 30 seconds of air time. Commercials are main ways radio broadcasters make their money. -
