School Magazine Research
By looking at previous magazines that students had made and real life examples, this helped me decide on what was right for a magazine and what design aspects are needed in the creation of the school magazine, I designed a basic layout which i wanted to use and it was much easier to create afer i did this. -
Consturcting School Magazine
When it came to constructing the real thing it was very easy because i already had the layout i wanted and the program pages is very easy to use. It looked very professional with the differnet use of fonts, colours and images. -
Rate Card
I didnt know what a rate card was before i did tis tastk but i learnt some interesting facts about differnet magazines and information about their readers. When i created my rate card i made it on pages again putting shapes into it to make it stand out and look different from the rest. This gave me the knowledge on who i want my target audience to be. -
Photoshoot
With my photoshoots i found this very easy because i had planned how i wanted my images to look and i had a certain look i was going for. With the inspiration of many front cover modles they all use eye contact so i needed this whithin most of my photographs. With the use of photoshop i edite my images to look flawless and extreamly professional. -
Institutional research
I learnt information about the different magazines which i would have never known about for example, i didn't know when any of the magazine where published or the institution they came from. -
final contents page
I had difficulty on deciding which colours to use because i didn't want it to look too feminine, so i changed the rose colour to blue but i thought it looked to similar to the contents page colour. I then changed it to olive green and i believe that the greys, whites and blacks all compliments the olive green and it looks very professional and would appeal to both male and females. -
Planning the Layout
This is when I started to plan th layout. My preliminary task's layout was very crowded and un professional, so designing this had made me deside clearly with what i want in my magazine. -
Photoshoot planning
By doing this task i know exactly how i want the photographs to look in my magazine and what i will need to do to get these types of photos in my music magazine. I will need to choose the location of my photo shoot carefully to make my images look really professional. -
FInal Article
In my preliminary task i didnt write an article so this was new to me. But with the help from the research i had done i created a very interesting interview. -
Final douple page spread
During the process of making my double page spread it didn't feel like its was for a music magazine but for a fashion magazines instead. So thats why i have added the music notes across the left side. It now looks like it is for a music magazine and it also looks really nice on the page because it felt a bit bland there as well so it has used up the space nicely and it all fits together. I believe that my double page spread looks very professional and i have created the look that i wanted. -
Start of Construction
When I started my construction, I had a clear idea in my head of what I wanted my magazine to include. This changed a lot over the construction, but ultimately for the better. From looking at examples of professional photo shoots I was able to get some really good photos that were perfect for what I wanted them for. This however, was after one or two unsuccessful shoots. -
Final front cover
I believe that the finished product of my front cover looks really good and professional. I think that the colours i have chosen stand out and compliment the picture. The text look nicely laid out and visible. The photograph i have chosen attracts a lot of attention because the eyes are looking directly at the camera and it is very clear and well focused. I am very happy with the overall look, using inspiration from CLASH magazine i have found it very easy to create the look i was going for. -
Logo Design
When designing my logo i wanted it to be black and very bold so it is eye catching and easy to read i created this on the program publisher which was very easy to use and i created the shaddow effect on pages. -
Final Product
This is my final product. It is much better than my preliminary task, and this is because I have used all of what I have learnt since then. I used methods of taking better photos, layout design and colour themes.
