WIX
Wix is a website that allows you to create blogs that can then be published; however, I had never used it before this project. I learned how to create a blog and insert text, image, video etc. to create a working blog that people can visit using the domain. At the beginning of the course I created a very basic blog that only had text and image but I can now i know how to personalize my blog as shown by the audio/video files as part of my evaluation, embedded PowerPoint and Powtoon hyperlink. -
CAMERA
I have learned how to use a Cannon EOS 1300D camera successfully, using the manual focus, zoom, and various settings to get the perfect shot. I learned about shutter speed (reduce and increase motion blur), aperture (how blurred the background is in comparison to the foreground), and ISO (less exposed or more exposed etc.). As well as this I also learned how to use burst mode in order to capture every change in the movement of the models – this came in handy with the confetti cannon. -
PHOTOSHOP 1
Within the programme Photoshop, I learned how to use the Spot Removal and Clone Tool in order to remove imperfections on the face of my models; this helped my magazine look more professional as by doing this I used the codes and conventions found in successful print media. I also learned how to use photo adjustments to saturate and de saturate and image as well as edit the exposure etc. -
STUDIO LIGHTING
I had never used the lighting in the studio before for a photoshoot but found that it produced a very crisp and clear image when done correctly. I learned how to use the switch board to change the intensity of the separate lights and also about the 3 point lighting system and how using different combinations of lights created different shadows as they counter balance each other. -
PHOTOSHOP 2
I also used how to use the colour replacement tool which came in very handy when editing my double page spread as the colours of the clothing didn’t completely match the colour scheme of the double page spread so I decided remove all of the colour from their clothing excluding their jackets which I coloured to be green to fit with the colour scheme. Along with this i learned how to use the Lasso tool so i could cut out the subjects of photograph so the background was saturated, contrasting them. -
AUDIO PODCAST
I learned how to create an audio podcast using a microphone plug in and an app called speaker studio. I learned how to add music in the background like podcast would have as well as layering my voice over the top but so it was still audible. -
IMPROVEMENTS
When looking at what I've learnt regarding technology, I have developed an array of skills using various media platforms. However, Photoshop in particular has many different functions and Image adjustments so I can always improve my skills by experimenting with more techniques. I also found it hard getting the right setting on my camera so i need more practice in setting up before photoshoot and remembering to right down the settings I used in order to recreate the same successful image style.
