    Queen Victoria was born on May 24, 1819 in Kengston Palace located in London. Queen Victoria was named Alexandrina Victoria by her parents, Edward, the Duke of Kent and her mother Victoria, the Princess Saxe-Coburg ("A Book of Famous Queens"). Victoria was Edward and Victoria`s first child together. Queen Victoria had to older siblings who were her mothers children, born from another marriage. After her father died, Victoria took over the country under a year old with help from her advisor.

    On January 23rd 1820 when Victoria was about nine months old; Prince Edward Duke of Kent died ("Victoria"). His death lead Queen Victoria to rule Great Britain and Ireland at nine months old. Queen Victoria was helped by her advisor to rule the country and looked up to her mother for help and advice while growing up.

    Victoria became Queen of Great Britain and Ireland when she was under a year old. She ruled her country with the help of an advisor which assisted her until she turned 18. On June 20th 1837, Victoria ascended the throne to rule both countries without assistance of an advisor ("Queen Victoria Timeline"). Even though she ascended the throne in 1837 her coronation wasn't until 1838, a year later. Queen Victoria ruled her country with pride and passionately which lead Britain and Ireland`s success.

    On February 10th 1840 Queen Victoria got married to Albert of Saxe-Coburg Gotha, a German Prince. Albert was not only Victoria`s husband but was also her first cousin. When Albert and his brother, Ernest visited London, Victoria and Albert fell in love ("Victoria Queen and Empress"). Victoria and Albert were gifted with nine children of their own before Albert died at the age of forty-two.

    Queen Victoria`s subjects attempted to assassinate her at least seven times throughout her sixty three years of ruling ("Queen Victoria Timeline"). Starting in June of 1840 a great distress spread throughout the land Victoria ruled. Because of the distress Queen Victoria received silence and unpleasant remarks said by her subjects. The second time Queen Victoria was attempted to be assassinated was on May 3rd, she was shot at but the bullet missed her.

    Irish Potato Famine (World Event)
    The Irish Potato Famine started in the year 1845 and continued until 1852. This major world event was caused by microorganisms that wiped out most of the potato crop and caused over one million deaths through out Ireland ("Brit History-10 from the Victorian Era"). The potato famine caused people to move out of Ireland and to other places all over the world which caused social and political changes. The Potato Famine eventually led to the Independence of Ireland and caused Anti Union Movements.

    Great Expedition (World Event)
    This major World Event called the Great Expedition was hosted at the Crystal Palace located in Hyde Park. The event lasted for five long months and made an impact on the World. The Great Expedition showed new technology and exhibits brought from all over the world ("Brit History-10 Events from Victorian Era"). The Great Expedition also know as the Crystal Palace Expedition was the first world`s fair.

    Crimean War (World Event)
    The Crimean War lasted three years starting in 1853 and lasting until 1856. The Crimean War was caused because England realized that Russia was more powerful then before and could take the Black Sea from them ("Brit History -10 Events from the Victorian Era"). They noticed they become more powerful when they won a battle/war against Ottoman forces. Noticing the were booming more powerful France and Great Britain became allies and fought Russia.

    Big Ben Cast (World Event)
    The casting of the Big Ben was a major World Event to the world because it is now a major tower that everyone knows of. Great Bell, nicknamed The Big Ben was casted August 6th 1856 ("Brit History- 10 Events from Victorian Era"). The Great Bell (The Big Ben) was installed inside of Elizabeth Tower. The sixteen ton bell was shown and is suppose to symbolize the United Kingdom and London.
  • First Transatlantic Cable (World Event)

    First Transatlantic Cable (World Event)
    The Transatlantic Cable is a major World event that provided communication to two halves of the world. The cable was laid along the Atlantic Ocean from Venetia Island to Western Ireland to Nova Scotia ("Brit History- 10 events from Victorian Era") Communication tools like the Transatlantic Cable made telegraph cables made the Victorian world smaller.

    Origin of Species (World Event)
    This World Event was a book called the "Origin of Species" written by Charles Darwin. This famous book was published in 1859 that proved religious belief wrong ("Brit History- 10 Events from the Victorian Era"). The "Origin of Species" written by Darwin created a debate on the purpose of nature and weather or not science or God should be the reason why nature is nature.
  • Albert`s Death

    Albert`s Death
    On December 14th 1861, Queen Victoria lost her husband Albert, Prince Consort. Albert died at the age of forty two in Windsor, United Kingdom of typhoid fever ("Victoria I"). She was left to rule Great Britain, Ireland, and was the mother of nine children when he died. Alberts death left Queen Victoria in a deep mourning for the rest of her life.
  • Empress of India

    Empress of India
    In the year of 1877 Queen Victoria became the Empress of India. Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli named Queen Victoria Empress of India because the proclamation of Victoria becoming Empress of India linked India to Great Britain which was a very successful country at the time. After this proclamation Queen Victoria was Queen of Great Britain, Ireland and was now the Empress of India ("Queen Victoria Biography").

    Golden Jubilee
    Queen Victoria ruled Great Britain and Ireland for fifty years on June 20th 1887. Queen Victoria ruled her country successfully over those fifty years, she expanded her empire to over four million square miles and ruled over one hundred twenty four million people ("Victoria"). Queen Victoria ruled fifty years which was the longest reigning at that time, but no one knew she had thirteen more years left to rule.
  • Diamond Jubilee

    Diamond Jubilee
    On June 20th 1897, Queen Victoria celebrated ruling Great Britain and Ireland for sixty years ("Victoria Queen and Empress"). Queen Victoria was the longest reigning monarch in Great Britain when she hit sixty years of ruling. Even though she is now the second longest ruling Queen in Great Britain, Queen Victoria ruled successfully and powerfully.
  • Death

    Death
    On January 22nd 1901, in East Cowes, United Kingdom Queen Victoria died ("Queen Victoria Biography"). No one knows what she dies of but researchers now think she dies of some sort of hemorrhage. She died with a lot of pressure to put on the next ruler. She ruled sixty three years, gave birth to nine children, ruled one hundred twenty four million subjects and owned over four million miles of land. Queen Victoria was the most successful monarch in Great Britain.
