Queen Victoria's Coronation
The official coronation lasted total of 5 hours.
Parties in the streets lasted for days after.
At eighteen years old Victoria became the Queen of England. The coronation was held at Westminster Abbey. -

On February 10,1839 Queen Victoria marries Albert of Saxe-Coburg. They were married in St.James Palace.
Victoria orginally gave very little power to her husband, but after an incident with a doctor she allowed him to become more involved, eventually becoming her most trusted advsior.

Two Scandals
Queen Victoria accused one of her mother's attending maids, Lady Flora Hastings of being pregnant and unwed with her mother's closest friend Conroy. Lady Flora in reality had a cancerous tumor. Melbourne was prime minister, and was replaced. The new prime minister requested Victoria to replace her attendants. she refused and Melbourne returned as Prime Minister.

Albert of Saxe- Coburg's Death
Prince Albert was Queen Victoria's husband, whom she loved very much according to her diary. She also relyed on him for political problems, and was her most trusted advisor. After his death she fell into depression, only wore black, and made very limited public appearences. Victoria shortly afterwards: "How I, who leant on him for all and everything—without whom I did nothing, moved not a finger, arranged not a print or photograph, didn't put on a gown or bonnet if he didn't approve it shall go. -
