    Queen Victoria was born on the poor side of the royal family. Her mother was the Duchess of Kent and her father was the Duke of Kent. Her family was in a very bad financial situation. Victoria grew up in a set of run-down apartments in Kensongton Palace, while the rest of her relatives lived in the glamorous Winsdor Castle. Before Victoria was born, her mother took a very dangerous journey to Germany, where she lived at the time, so her daughter would be born on British soil.

    In 1831 Greece was able to gain independence from Turkey. The Turks and the Greeks were long time internal rivals, a war broke out and if it wasn't for the help of the European powers, they would not have won.     The Trail of Tears was an event that started with the Indian-removal. This was General Andrew Jackson decided to go against the Creeks in attempt to remove them from a certain area that he wished to attain. This process started in 1831 and went on until 1907. The Trail of Tears was the moving of thousands of Indians from the "Indian territory" which was their homeland.

    On June 20, 1837 King William died, When Victoria woke up that morning she had a whole new title and more authority. After the King had passed, Victoria was the next in line for the crown. After that day it crowned the next Queen of England.

There was not enough room for the large crowds to be in the chapel, so instead they gathered around and cheered for the Victoria.

It was said that his attention was drawn onto a" tall, dark, and well-regarded" actor of the Victorian-era, was said to have an influence on the making of Dracula.

    In 1848, the discovery of little gold nuggets in the Sacramento Valley caused what was called The California Gold Rush. As news spread about this amazing discovery, thousands of gold miners traveled by sea or land to acquire this gold. A total of $2 billion worth of precious metal was taken from the area during the Gold Rush. Most people sold anything and everything they could to get up and travel to California to try and find some gold.

    In 1849, a man named Alexandra Graham Bell created the telephone. He was an inventor and was best known for the creation of the telephone. He received his first patent in 1876. He went through many lawsuits against him that claimed he stole others ideas, but none proved successful.

    There is no exact date for the many different things Victoria did in her reign. She was able to restore peace to England. Queen Victoria was able to make her reign efficient and was able to make an era that was full of prosperity and growth.

    When Prince Albert died, it was perhaps the most significant thing to happen in Victoria's life. His death sent Victoria into a deep depression for a long time. She was rarely in public and mourned him by wearing black for the remaining forty years of her life. Albert's death came suddenly, the cause was typhoid fever. He lay in bed for several weeks until he passed. She had statues made of her husband and placed mementos all around the royal palaces.

    The first Underground Railway was opened in 1863, In the Metropolitan Railway. The railway was built between Paddington and Farringdon Street. A lot more railways would be added in the years to come.

    Queen Victoria became the Empress of India in 1877, while she pushed for this title for several years, the Prime minister Benjamin Disraeli had been hesitant to agree. Victoria took great interests in imperial affairs, and finally in 1877 Disraeli made her empress of India in a move to hold Britain's link to the "jewel in the empire's crown".

    On June 20, Queen Victoria gained her golden jubilee, this marked her 50th anniversary of her reign.The Golden Jubilee festivities were widely seen not only as a celebration, but as an affirmation of Britain's place as a global power. Most people were so happy to see that when Victoria first joined the throne, it was coming to an end and was ripped apart, but when Victoria came to her reign she restored the monarchy.
  • The Diamond Jubilee

    On June 22, 1897 Queen Victoria was awarded her Diamond Jubilee. This signified her 60th year of her reign. They invited come 300,000 of Britain's poor were treated to a special Jubilee dinner. The celebration of Victoria gaining her Diamond Jubilee was far more grander than the Jubilee she had in the previous decade.
  • Death

    Death
    Queen Victoria's reign came to an end on January 22, 1901. There was a grand funeral procession in which silent crowds of people came to line the streets of London. Victoria was buried beside her husband Prince Albert, in the royal mausoleum at Frogmore house. Her death was the end of an amazing and efficient era.
