on the 20th of June 1837 King William IV died Victoria became queen at age 18. Her Coranation was at the Buckingham Palace. -
First Monarach to live in Buckingham Palace
Queen Victoria was the first Monarch to make Buckingham Palace official Royal Residence. George III (her grandfather) bought it but never used it. Queen Victoria was the fist Monarach to live in there. -
Proposing
The queen always felt affectian for her cousin Prince Albert, and so did he. On his visit, she proposed to him (Only King or Queen can propose) and he accepted. -
Marriage
They married in the Chapel Royal of St. Jame's Palace, London. She didn't feel good but in her diary she wrote "I NEVER, NEVER spent such an evening!!! MY DEAREST DEAREST DEAR Albert ... his excessive love & affection gave me feelings of heavenly love & happiness I never could have hoped to have felt before! He clasped me in his arms, & we kissed each other again & again! His beauty, his sweetness & gentleness – really how can I ever be thankful enough to have such a Husband! ... to be called by
