Band members May and Taylor formed a group with their friend Freddie Mercury, the former lead singer of the band 'Wreckage'

Starting Fame
By 1973, the group had started to really concentrate in their musical carrer, they released their debut album 'Queen' and set out on their first tour. Their 'straight metal album' failed miserably. But 'Queens II' was a British breakthrough. -
Top Of The Pops
Queen's breakthrough second album was a smashing success. The band played 'Top of the Pops' performing 'Seven Seas of Rhye' Both song and performance was a success and skyrocketed into the top ten. Setting the stage for 'Queens II' to reach Top 5 in the charts. Following this Queen embarked on their first American tour. The album climbed to #43 in the states. -
Sheer Heart Attack
Before the end of 1974, Queen released their third album 'Sheer Heart Attack'. It climbed to #2 on the UK charts. It made some inroads in the US as well.
