Elizabeth executs Mary, her cousin, for treason before heading off to war with Spain. Mary was imprisoned and later escaped to England in hopes of protection under Queen Elizabeth. As rumors ran about that Mary was planning to overthrow Queen Elizabeth, she was left with no other options than to agree to the exectution of her cousin. -

Francis Drake dies!
Sir Francis Drake, an important member of Queen Elizabeth reign, dies. The cause of his death was due to yellow fever in which he obtained during one of his adventures of exploring. He left behind no children to bear his name. He was buried in a lead coffin and thrown into the sea. -
