    Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer. One day he went on an expedition to find spices but instead found the Americas. It is said that Columbus discovered America, but there were already people living there; the Indians.

    13 Original colonies
    The original colonies started when people started moving to America for religious freedom. From then on, many people moved there and started new lives. The 13 original colonies are where it all started. Each colony specialized in certain things such as trading and farming.

    The French and Indian War was a war between France and Britian. The war was over land boundaries and over who owned what. It ended with the Treaty of Paris, whwich was signed in 1763

    The Industrial Revolution was a time period when manufacturing upgraded. Originally, people did things, like make clothing, in their homes. During the Industrial Revolution, factories and machines were built and manufacturing became a lot different.

    The American colonists were upset that the British passed the Tea Act ( this put taxes on tea). One night, the Sons of Liberty decided to do something about it. They went to the Boston Harbor and spilled all 342 chests of tea into the water.

    The Revolutionary War was the war that set Americans free from British control. Through a series of many battles, American colonists fought for their freedom. They didn't want to be under British control anymore so they fought and won their independence.

    The Constitution was writted during the constitutional convention. It was writted by James Madison, even though the writers risked being hung by the British government. The Constitutional basically brought equality to the U.S. government. It ensured that no branch would have more power than another.

    When President Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisianna purchase, he wanted to hire someone to explore it. He sent for Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. They originally set out to find water routes to the Pacific ocean but discovered many other things. They were accompanied by many people such as Sacagawea.

    When Missouri became a state, they wanted to be a slave state. This was hard on congress because it would make the slave states and the free states uneven. To solve this, they came up with the Missouru comprommise, Missouri could be a slave state but the lousianna purchase and North of it was to never be a slave state again.

    Bleeding Kansas was pretty much a border war that had a lot to do with slavery. There was the new idea of using popular sovereignty to determine which states should be slave states and which states should be free.
