In 1890 the 986 carbon was made by Couillet and was ues for gasworks at West Melbourne and worked there untill 1941. Then 986 carbon went to work as a tourist railway in walhalla in 1959. -

In 1895 puffing billy started to carrie a lot of things such as veggies, friut, wood, and mach more. -
Thomas
Thomas is a train that is famous and has shirts, pants, wooden mini figures, electric mini figures and much more, it is that famous it is not funny. Thomas was designed by Lawson Billinton in 1913. -
A14
In 1914 A14 was built at Newport workshop and went to work at the Beech forest line, Colac. 49 years latter A14 was transferred to the belgrave train shed and is working on the narrow gauge line. -
Buzy line
The line was very busy in 1916 on a day because there were ten trains on the line at once running each way. -
The worst performimg Line in Victoria Railways
In 1924 Puffing Billys Gembrook line loses $26,000 in one year, even though lots and lots of people ride on the train they lost a lot of money. -
Tecoma station
In 1924 teacoma had built a station as there was not one built in tecoma. -
Services is cut back
In 1930 great depression, services are cut back from 10 trains running daily to just two or three trains per week and staff levels are also cutback -
Line extened
in 1949 the gauge line extened beyond upper ferntree gully. -
The narrow gauge 50th aniversar
In 1950 the narrow gauge celebrates it's 50th aniversar -
8A
In 1953 the 8A was the last train to run the Gembrook lines because of a landside blocked the gembrook line. In 1955 8A got sold to beaunmaris council and placed on a display at a kids playground. there it sat for 15 years, then it was removed from the park by puffing billy crew and got fixed up and fully run in 1982. -
Belgrave station
In 1960 puffing billys station had got a new platform. -
100,000th passenger
In may 1963 the railway has celebrated its 100,000 passenger asn't puffing billy got alot of money. -
Belgrave welcomes G42
G42 built by Beyer Peacock limited in 1926, he ran the lines of moe - walhalla untill that line cloesd in 1954.G42 then went to work at colac-beech forrest line untill 1962 when that closed. G42 then went to belgrave in 1968 in the mid 1980's the G42 got fixed up costing over $1.700.000.00 and returned to sevice inapril 2004 -
Lakeside
In 1972 re-construction to lakeside strats and 3 years latter the lakeside line is used by trains again. -
The twilight specials
In 1973 the puffing billy staff decided to do 7 night time specials from menzie creek to emerald. -
14A is stolen!!!
In 1974 , when 14A was sttlen. They had driven to Selby but got stoped by police and railway staff then 14A was tansferred back to the shed by the railway staff. -
The great train race
The great train race as being on the frist weekend of may since 1981 and is still go on today. The event is were lost of people ran from belgrave to lakeside and is a hilly 13.2km. -
50th anniversary.
The Puffing Billy preservation Society cele brates its 50th anniversary. -
8,000,000th passenger
Puffing Billy carries its 8,000,000th passenger Since the reopening in 1962 and belive me thats amzing.
