The first steady step for the beatles into the world of psychedlic rock using panning, slower tempos and different effects on the vocals. -
The 13th floor elevators
Reverb, palm muted, delay, screams. this album has had influence on bands like led zepplin and the rolling stones. This set a bench mark for music in the late 60's. -
The Beach Boys - Wild Honey
An album that creates a feeling of freedom (associated with the scene of peace and love). Although this album hasnt gone as far as sgt. peppers by The Beatles, the sensation of phasing synthisisers, bending notes and wah pedals to create there psychedelic pop. -
JimioHendrix Influenced everyone!
Jimi hendrix with his blues/swing styled riffs with psychedelic rock encorporated. What made Hendrix different was his ability to make unusual sounds with just his guitar and a few pedals. Feedback was used on solos and at the begining of songs, he made it sound like bombs were dropping and also wah pedals to make it sound like the sound was wavey. -
sgt. peppers lonley hearts club band
The Beatles realese their heavily influenced psychedlic rock. They met bob dylan in 1964 who introduced them to marijuana which then lead to harder drugs like lsd which helped create the album. This explains the effects that they have whilst using the drugs; fast pace to slow extremes. -
The beatles (white Album)
As the beatles progressed there sound got more divers and strange. Due to the loss off their manager in 1967 The Beatles stopped using the heard drugs and there sound became more poppy and rounded in 1968 on the white album. marijuana was still used so some sounds kept the same but there orignial pop/rock style was back with songs like ,Back in the USSR'. -
The soft machine
strange sounds encourporasted into a pop vibe. fullsetto voices going through the alphabet was a sign of someone who is mentally unstable. The use of drugs made people come out with something that thye never would of thought have. -
Jimi Hendrix - Band of gypsys
This album had a new 'funky' vibe to it with songs like stone free. This was a clear pointer that the pyschedelic rock era was fading out slightly.
