Confederation of Canada
This event resulted in Canada being allowed to become a nation on July 1, 1867. The four provinces who joined were:
- Ontario
- Quebec
- Nova Scotia
- New Brunswick -
Manitoba and The Northwest Territories Join Confederation
Manitoba and the Northwest Territories had officially had joined Confederation in the year of 1870. This was 3 years after all of the other provinces were fully confederated. -
British Columbia Joins Confederation
In the year 1871, the province of British Columbia had officially joined the rest of the provinces in Confederation. -
Prince Edward Island Joins Confederation
In the year 1873, the province of PEI had officially joined the other provinces in Confederation -
Yukon Joins Confederation
This territory had officially joined the Dominion of Canada on June 13, 1898 -
Saskatchewan and Alberta Join Confederation
These two provinces had officially joined the Confederation of Canada in 1905. -
Newfoundland and Labrador Joins Confederation
This province had finally joined Canada in 1949. -
Nunavut Joins Confederation
Nunavut was the last province to have officially joined Confederation on April 1, 1999.
