  • Invasion of manchuria

    Invasion of manchuria
    The invasion started on the 18th when the empire of japan's Kwantung Army Decided to invade after the Mukden incident. They gained control of this piece of land until 1945. The eastern parts of Manchuria and the majority of the Korean peninsula were under the control of the Japanese for roughly three decades. The reason for this is that the U.S had restricted trade between them and Japan causing Japan to conquer more land to obtain more natural resources and materials.
  • Rape of Nanjing

    Rape of Nanjing
    This was a scene of mass murder and rape that the Japanese troops committed towards the people of Nanjing. Japan's troops had murdered civilians and took the women to use as "toys". This was important for the fact that the U.S helped hide the fact that this happened. Why you might ask? The U.S had planned after Japan surrendered to take over the land and if it had a bad reputation that would affect the amount of power that they have by gaining the land.
  • Anschluss

    Anschluss
    This event was when Austria willingly gave up to the Nazi party and adding to the Germans territory. There had been a lot of support for Hitler in both Germany and Austria as well as the desire to integrate into the Nazi party. This was important to Hitler's Reign to try and take over Europe. This gave him more manpower & supplies. Austria sue to other treaties couldn't form a union with Germany so had to give itself up in order to join.
  • Munich pact

    Munich pact
    This agreement prevented Germany from being able to annex part of nowadays Czechoslovakia which was mainly German-speaking people. The reason Hitler had claimed what he wanted was either all of his requests were fulfilled or have the ability for war to break back out. In response to this, the European powers met up in Germany to discuss and end up giving Hitler what he wants. This is just feeding Germany resources and allowing him to push through barriers that shouldn't have been broken.

    This night was an act against Jews throughout Nazi Germany's territory. Nazi's went around the town vandalizing the jews buildings or buildings that had anything to do with Jewish people. This sent a shockwave around the world. If Everyone didn't hate Hitler by now they had a pretty bad image of him. The reason this event had happened was out of outrage after the assassination of a German diplomat by a Jewish kid.

    Germany in the previous war had fought a 2 sided battle. In preparation for taking over Europe, Germany signed a pact with the Soviets saying they would not fight. This is important to remember because just 2 years later Germany decided to go against the Soviets and fight them. Hitler wanted to get the Soviets out of the way so he could fight France with all his power and once obtaining Europe he could go back and fight them.
  • Invasion of poland

    The invasion of Poland was a campaign to invade them by the Germans, Soviet Union, and a small Slovak contingent. By overtaking Poland the Germans had an advantage no doubt. France and the UK had officially declared war on Germany after Germany had attacked and annexed one of their allies. With the help of the Soviets, the takedown of Poland's defense was easy considering the attack from the east left them defenseless allowing Germany to annex it. This is where WWII starts off.
  • Evacuation of Dunkirk

    Evacuation of Dunkirk
    After 6 weeks of battle Belgian, British, and French forces were surrounded by German forces and cut off from the rest causing a retreat off of the beaches of all the allied forces. This was seen as a major fail in the eyes of the Brits. Germany had gained more land and the allied forces suffered a significant loss of both men and land.
  • Tripartite agreement

    Tripartite agreement
    This was an agreement between Germany, Italy, and Japan about a defense military alliance that overtime eventually added Hungaria, Bulgaria, Romania, Yugoslavia, and Slovakia. This caused Yugoslavia to obtain a new leader leading to the invasion of their land by the rest of the agreement minus Italy and Japan. thus creation Croatia which would also join the agreement. This was directed at the U.S but it was limited. This leads to Japan bombing pearl harbor and declaring war with the U.S
  • Lend lease act

    Lend lease act
    (pearl harbor is what got the U.S into the war.) This was an American act to defeat Germany, Japan, and Italy by disturbing there natural resources, resources, and food supplies. With the aiding other allied nations warships, warplanes and other weaponry were produced and sent. This ended overnight after Japan surrendered. This was under direct control of the White House with help from aids in the house to help survey what went on.
  • Operation barbarossa

    This was a code name the Germans had for the invasion of the Axis powers on the Soviets. This was started from the greed of Hitler wanting all of Europe. After signing a non-aggression pact 2 years prior, Hitler stabs the soviet union in the back by attacking them. They did this in order to try and gain manpower(labor) and resources so they could further take over all of Europe. with the largest invasion force ever recorded it still didn't help them because they had to back off.
  • Pearl harbor

    Japan wanted to Use the bombing of pearl harbor as a message for the U.S to stay out of japan's way with there military. In turn, it did the exact opposite, It angered the Americans after they had learned that the Japanese were responsible for over 3,500 injuries and deaths in the bombing. In the end, the U.S entered the war out of anger that Japan had bombed pearl harbor. One day after this event happened the U.S on the 8th of December had declared war on Japan.
  • Battle of midway

    Battle of midway
    A U.S Navy defeated a Japanese Navy fleet Just shy of 6 months after the bombing of the harbor. This attack sustained enough damage to the Japanese fleet that it was deemed irreparable which is a major blow to the naval warfare. Japan hoped to dominate the Pacific after defeating the U.S But instead what they got was a full on war. Japan had prepared to lure U.S planes to create their barrier strategy and hopes it would prepare for further attacks on Hawaii and other islands.
  • Liberation of Paris

    Liberation of Paris
    The Liberation of Paris or the battle for Paris and Belgium was when the french tried to regain Paris from German control. Germany had control of Paris ever since the signing of the Second Compiègne Armistice. France was annoyed by this so the French resistance made its way into Paris and took back Paris after Germany surrendered. This event gave France more control of there country and more power in WW2.
  • D-Day invasion

    The Allies working together during the attack were the Americans, British, and the Canadians. These multiple different attacks took place on five different beaches and within 50 miles of each other.This lead the Allies to liberating all of northern France by August of 1944.The Allies leaked information that was supposed to mislead the Germans.
  • Battle of the bulge

    Battle of the bulge
    Germany's last push! this meant this was their final major offensive campaign. The push wat to try and stop the allied forces from using the Belgian ports. This ended up failing miserably. They had hoped that they could force the allies to sign a peace treaty so he could pay attention to the Soviets, but due to the lack of manpower and the inability to replace them as fast as they lost them, it seemed like a downhill slope. With the one last push into the allies weak point, they still failed
  • Hitlers Suicide

    Adolf Hitler was a German politician and the leader of the Nazi party. He killed himself on April 30th, 1945. His wife committed suicide on this day to by overdosing on cyanide. Hitler killed himself by shooting himself in the head. The death of Adolf Hitler affected WW2 due to the fact that this meant the Nazi party no longer had there very strong leader which was that of Adolf Hitler.This was detrimental to the Nazis.

    The surrender of germany ended the second world war. This was very significant because germany in front of other diplomats and representatives had signed that they had given up. A war that had been going on for six year ended as well as the dudes that still lingered from the almost twenty two year war before hand.

    In the U.S’s attempt to get the already torn down Japan to surrender they dropped not one but two biochemical weapons. The 2 bombs were the fat man and little boy. This brought mass destruction Upon both cities and miles surrounding. Where the bombs hit their was absolutely nothing left humans and other animals were cremated on the spot. Houses destroyed and ammunition and Military bases. (which were why the bombs were dropped) After this attack japan finally surrendered. To the Allies
