The record produced sound by rotating on top of the gramophone with its 'arm' (needle) reading the melody on the record by vibration and transmitted sound through the speaker. (Inventors, 2015) -
VINYL RECORD
After the gramophone was invented and it was discovered sound can be produced longer on flat records, round vinyl records were created. Vinyl records were very popular and was the main source of music up until the late 1980s.
