The Battle of Tannenberg (WWl)
This battle is one of the major events that happened in WWl. This ended with Russia getting nearly annihilated tens of thousands of Russian soldiers were killed. -
Assassination (WWl)
This is one of the events that led to WWl. The reason for doing so was to provoke the Austro-Hungarians to start a war with Serbia. Gavrilo Princip was the one to shoot his wife and archduke, then this ended up bringing in other European powers into the conflict. -
Battle of Verdun (WWl)
A German offensive to capture the city of Verdun. This was marked by heavy artillery strafing and intense trench warfare. This battle led to a lot of casualties on both ends with the French successfully defending the city leading to a victory. -
Battle of Jutland (WWl)
The largest naval battle in WWl. The battle involved 250 ships and 100,000 men. The British grand fleet had an encounter with the German fleet the Geerman left the British in control regardless of heavier ship losses. -
Battle of Somme (WWl)
This was a major war where the French and the British projected a massive offensive against German lines along the river in France which is Somme. which led to the bloodiest battles with many casualties. -
Uniform
It was a change from a blue serge suit to a soldier's uniform. The changes are not hard you just have to accept them. -
Disciplined Camps
Being in Camp Wadsworth, Spartanburg, and south Carolina was a big change where we became disciplined soldiers. -
Gas Mask
There was an air battle at 4:00am and they had them put their gas masks on but they had to do it correctly for a certain amount of time. That was the longest gas wave they have experienced. -
Worst Job
Two of the infantry regiments had to carry the dead back and the injured. That was the worst thing you could do. -
Artillery Fire
There were times when they were under lots of
artillery fire and with perfect observation from the enemy
