Regulations under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) published final regulations under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. The new regulations were proposed to allow the continued use of single-sex schools and single-sex classes, as long as both sexes are treated equally within the educational system. -
