Production Work

  • Prelim match-cut

We used final cut in AS to learn how to use editing software. As I had never used final cut before, this task allowed me to learn how to import and export footage, and edit in match cuts into the footage.
  • BAIT tutorial

  • The Breakfast Club Remake

The Breakfast club remake task allowed us to learn how to use multiple technologies. For example, we had to use the camera and make sure the camera microphone was on. After we filmed our footage, we learnt how to import footage and edit chronologically in order to follow a script and convey the conventions of a teen film. We also learn how to cut from different angles such as close ups, mid shots, etc.
  • Your teen film opening

During making the teen film opening, we had applied everything that we had learnt so far up to this point. We used our own personal camera Canon 600 D to film a wide variety of camera angles such as close ups, mid shots, long shots. After filming our footage, we imported this footage into final cut pro and had to render all of our footage as we did not use the college camera. Furthermore, we edited in jump cuts, we edited from perspective and we also, distorted editing.
  • AS blog

Used a variety of technologies to present information in the blog such as Timetoast, Prezi, camatasia, slideshare, youtube etc.
  • Lip sync tutorial

During this, we used Final Cut pro for the first time since the AS year and doing this activity enabled us to learn how to cut up and mix and match footage. During AS year, we did not know how to do this as we did not need to as we were trying to portray seemless editting. However, as we were purposefully trying to convey disoriented editting, the cut tool was essential
  • Music Video

During the making of our music video, we learnt how to not only edit and use jump cuts and develop other editing skills that we had learnt throughout AS and A2, but we also added in colour filters to portray a different story, we learnt how to change the speed of clips and reverse clips, something else which we also did not use during AS as we wanted to achieve seemless editing. We also added in transitions between clips & also edited our title sequence in photoshop.
  • Ancillary productions

We used photoshop to edit both the digipak and advertisement ancillary product. This developed skills during AS as we had only used photoshop breifly to colour the letters also for our title sequence. We learned how to use the magic wand, the lasso tool and the colour tool to achieve the transparent title effect that we wanted.
  • A2 Blog

I developed the blog from A2 as I used extra technologies to present information that I did not use during AS. For example, Voki, Emaze, Powtoon etc.
