    K.C. Chang

    Chang's research focused on the study of subsistence practices (farming and horticulture), settlement patterns, and human interactions within different eco-systems.
    Dr. Chang integrated historiography with methods of American anthropology and archaeology. He was an advocate for East Asian Archaeology and is credited with bringing work from this region to an international audience.
  • Kent V. Flannery

    Kent V. Flannery
    Central and southern Mexico
    He has done a lot of work and published multiple texts about the origins of agriculture and life in the villages in the Andes mountains. He also published a lot about the changes in culture over time in that region and had some critiques on a lot of modern archaeological practices.

  • Anna M. Prentiss

    Anna M. Prentiss
    Pacific Northwest, Great Plains, and Arctic (North America) Prentiss’ research focuses on the archaeology of villages and towns, social inequality, hunter-gatherer mobility and technological organization, and the cultural evolutionary process. Dr. Prentiss is also active in the Queer Archaeology Interest Group (part of the Society for American Archaeology) where she advocates for equity and inclusion of the LGBTQI in archaeology.

    Very heavily involved in changing the theory and perspective of archaeology on the African coast, challenging the idea that native Africans could not build complex structures and societies by themselves; this is fitting with one of his primary areas of study, the origins of inequality.
    Serves on the editorial boards of five separate archeology magazines.

    Oaxaca, Mexico Dr. Nelly Robles García is the National Coordinator of Archaeology for the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia of Mexico. Dr. Robles Garciá is an advocate for the preservation and protection of cultural heritage resources.

    Sugiyama focuses on the Mesoamerican social histories, particularly of Teotihuacan. He carries out detailed and precise 3D map of ancient cities and studies monuments, sacrificial burials, ritual objects, etc. to explore their social dimensions, ancient ideologies, and human ́s evolving cognitive capacities.
