Yanek comes back to the concentration camp after his long day of work and Uncle Moshe is not there. One of the other prisoners told him that he was killed. -
Yanek is Relocated to the Wieliczka Salt mine
Yanek is moved to Wieliczka Salt mine where he sleeps, eats, and mines all day. If he is not mining, he is pushing gigantic boulders up a big, steep hill. Yanek often talks about how the past prisoners or other miners carved statues out of salt. -
Death March
Yanek is going to be transsferred to a different concentration camp, and instead of taking them by train, the nazis make them walk for 3 days without food or water, and they would only stop a few times. If you got too far behind the group, you get shot immediately. -
