Adams gave William Marbury a job (justice of the peace) but the new secretary of state ( James Madison) refused to deliver it, so Marbury sued him and won, this established judicial reveiw to make it easier for the future. -

The U.S paid 15 million dollars to France for land from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Moutains, known as Louisiana. -

Mc Culloch was a ccachier of the Baltimore Branch of the bank, he refused to pay the tax that was imposed on the bank in Maryland. -

This was a property requirement prevented poor people from voting, they thought that poor people lacked ecomonomic independence, but this allowed the common white man to be able to vote. -

•Thomas Gibbons wanted to use the New York waterways for his business, but the monopoly of steamship,Aaron Ogden, didn’t let him use the New York waterworks for his business. Gibbons sued Ogden, because he had a letter for the government that said that he could use the New York waterworks. -
