    The rights of citizens are now official, People have rights, and the government can’t become a dictatorship

    Britain and america would not go to war, This gave america a greater chance of developing as a country, because Britain could not start a war
  • resignation

    After two terms, George Washington resigned, and gave up his place as president. Now, presidents can only serve two terms.
  • Excise tax repealed

    Taxes on alcohol were back to normal. George Washington put the taxes up so america could pay for their debt, when america wasn't in debt anymore, Jefferson put them back
  • Louisiana purchase

    America doubled in size when Jefferson bought the land. Presidents could now to anything that the constitution ‘implied’ instead of only doing things the constitution specifically said
  • Lewis and Clark expedition

    The Louisiana purchase area was explored by colonists for the first time, Similar to when the colonists first arrived in america, because they knew nothing about the land and they had to explore and map everything again
  • slave trade ban

    People were no longer allowed to sell slaves, George Washington was a slaveholder, while Thomas Jefferson was against it
  • Geneva convention

    Jfk and other world leaders ban nuclear testing. Jfk wanted to keep america safe and out of war, similar to George Washington

    First step to possibly ending segregation. Thomas jefferson would have agreed with jfk’s decision, because jefferson was the president to end the slave trade

    Jfk was assassinated, and harvey oswald was the suspected murderer, but there is still confusion about what actually happened, Washington and jefferson didn't have to worry about being assassinated this way, because in their presidencies, guns weren't advanced enough or inconspicuous enough that someone could kill a president so easily.
