This policy was inducted by George Washington in 1793. They made this policy so the U.S. would not be dragged into war and remain neutral in foreign affairs. This affected the U.S. by causing the War of 1812. -

John Adams enacted to improve the security of the U.S. by reducing the amount of foreign immigrants coming to the U.S. The way the states counteracted it was by creating laws against it. -

This took place in the Mediterranean Sea. It took place because Thomas Jefferson refused to make additional payments to Tripoli. This policy affected the U.S. by making them enlarge the navy. -

This was a huge land purchase made by Thomas Jefferson. The U.S. made a deal with France to buy a huge territory expanding the U.S. which then was explored by Lewis and Clark. -
War of 1812
Great Britain and France were already at war, then, James Madison signed a declaration of war. This propelled the U.S. into the war. We developed a greater national identity and separated ourselves from Great Britain. -
The Monroe Doctrine
This policy was signed in by James Monroe. He signed this to help separate latin america furthermore from their mother country and help it develop as a nation. This policy allowed us to develop as a country and relationships with our neighboring nations. -
Tariff of Abominations
This policy was made by John Quincy Adams. He signed it in to enlarge prices of taxes on foreign goods. This ended up making the south pay more for foreign goods and they ended up losing money. -
Trail of Tears
Andrew Jackson was the one who made this policy. Some information was that the southern states seized native lands. Although this was illegal they still carried through with it.
