Proclamation of Neutrality
The us made a proclamation to stay neutrality in the french revolution. They didn't side with the French or British leaving the different opinions on who to side with in the country divided. -
Alien and Sedation act
John Adams made the Alien and sedation act to keep immigrants from living in America. The act helped boost the security of the nation. -
Louisiana Purchase
Thomas Jefferson purchased Louisianan. This resulted in the double of the land size and gave them access to the Mississippi river. -
War on Tripoli
Tripoli tried to invade America so they went to war at Tripoli. Most of the battles were at sea. This lead Jefferson to increase the sise of the Navy. -
War of 1812
The British invaded and started attacking the government buildings. After America defeated them the u.s became even more independent from Britain. -
Monroe Doctrine
The Monroe doctrine was a warning to Europe saying if they tried to settle or attack North America they would be attacked. This warning made all of North America safe from the expanding European government. -
Tariff of Abominations
John Adams started to tax foreign goods to get more money for the government. Since the south didn't have to pay for labor they taxed them. The result of this was that the south had to pay more for foreign goods. -
Indian removal act
America moved the Native American tribes to a very small land to claim their territory which was illegal. They marched the tribes killing most of their population. The result was more land but in cold blood.
