John Fitzgerald Kennedy announced that he is running for the presidency this upcoming election! He is running for the Democratic party; his running mate is Texas senator Lyndon B. Johnson. We will have to keep a close eye on these candidates. -

"We observe today not a victory of party but a celebration of freedom--symbolizing an end as well as a beginning--signifying renewal as well as change. John F. Kennedy established the Peace Corps by executive order. The Peace Corps mission includes providing technical assistance, helping people outside the U.S. to understand Amnerican culture, and helping Americans to understand the cultures of other countries. Hopefully all works well here in New York. -

There are new plans to form the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) which is a civilian foreign intelligence service of the U.S. Government which will have to gather, process and analyze national security infor from around the world. -

President Kennedy came to a tragic end in Dallas, Texas when Lee Harvey Oswald shot him twice, once in the side of the head and one in the back; all during the parade for the presidential election. JFK was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. after getting shot at about 12:30. -

Jack Ruby shoots Lee Harvey Oswald while the police are walking him through the basement of the Dallas police station. Noone knows why Ruby had the motive to do such a thing, but was it so awful? Many think that Ruby should not get the prison sentence that he did, but we will all see how this plays out.
