    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The Battle of Bunker Hill was a war fought between the Americans and the British in 1775. American spies heard that the British were planning to attack Bunker Hills so the Patriots sent 1600 men to set up fortifications on Breeds Hill. On June 17, 1775 General Howe led 2600 troops to Breeds Hill to fight the patriots. Even though the British won they had faced heavy losses with 226 men killed and 828 men wounded. Marte #11

    Tomas Paine "Common Sense", providing evidence for independence
    In 1776, Tomas Paine argues for for American Independence. Tomas Paine mainly argues about Government and religion with in the colonies. Tomas also argues about being Free from Britain and providing independence for the colonies. Durring tomases act for Independence he discusses monarchy and heredity success. Tomas beleves that monarchy can make a difrence, and he beleves that America can and will be free. this is why he wrote the document "Common Sence". Sam #37

    The Second Continental Congress appoints George Washington commander of the army.
    Working his way up in the ranks of the army George Washington got a wealth of knowledge about the army and how it worked. After witnessing many horrors he realized the importants of the men he was fighting with and the decsions he makes. The Continental Congress made a descison based off this experience and knowledge that George Washington has adquired and they made him Commander of the Army on June 19, 1775.
