Was a peace treaty at the end of WWI. It was supposed to be the treaty that ended all wars, but after afew year it started WWII. This was the documnet that blamed Germany for the entire war. Germany did not like the way that they were being treated so they retaliated. -
The Washinton Naval Conference
Was a conference called by U.S. president Harding, and it was held in Washington D.C. The conference was held from November 12th , 1921 to February 6th, 1922. It consisted of the world's largest naval powers. It was held to lessen the rising tensions in East Asia. -
Mussolini becomes the Prime Minister
Mussolini was the leader of a fascist party in Italy, and he led marches, gave speeches, and wrote articles in fascist paper. Then on one his most famous marches he was noticed by King Emmanuel III, and he made Mussolini Prime Minister. Mussolini thought only he could restore Italy to its former glory, so he started controling every aspect of an Italian citizen's life. -
Beer Hall Pustch
This was when Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party tried to take control of Germany (started in Munich"). They claimed that they were trying to create a better unified German Reich. Adofl failed and was convicted of treaon and spent five years in prison. The people of Germany considered him a national figure after this because they thought that Hitler was simply trying to make Germany better. -
The death of Lenin.
Vladamir Lenin was the frist leader of the Soviet Union, and he was the person behind the Bolshevik Revolution. Lenin died on January 21. 1924 due to a stroke. After his death five years later Stalin took control, and under him the Soviet Union lost much of its population and many people lived a life of suffering. -
Dawes Plan
The Dawes Plan was a plan to stablize Wiemer Germany's economy. After the Treaty of Versailles Germany had to pay reperations. Germany did not have the money to pay back all the countries, so there was inflation and unemployment. Due to the Dawes Plan American and Britishers gave loans to Germany so that Germany could become capable to pay the reperations -
Mein Kampf is published
Mein Kampf was a book written by Hitler while he was in prison. Mein Kampf translates to "My Struggle". The book was basically about Hitler life and how he thinks Germany should seperated based on physical appearance. It also includes who he thinks is the master race, the Aryans. The Aryans would blue eyes and blond hair. -
Hirohito is emperor of Japan
After the death of his father, he took control. His reign was often called Showa. Showa means Bright Peace or Enlightened Harmony. The full name of his reign was Showa Tenno, and he was named Emperor Showa. Under his rule, Japan attacked its neighboring countries and became allies with Nazi Germany. -
The first Five-Year Plan
This would be the first of many five- year plans made by Stalin.It involved Stalin's idea of peasants working on collective farmt luckily for the Soviet Union the first plane was successful, but it also had its own fault. Thia plan was the reason that the USSR became more powerful through industrialization. The quotas that were set were incredibly high, and if one quota would be met then soon after it would be increased. Due to this the collective farms rarely met the quotas. -
The Wall Street Crash
This was the stock market crash. When shareholders sold their stocks, many others notices and started to sell their stocks. Soon the rate of the stocks plumited and the people who bought their stocks on credit were in debt. After the crash the U.S. entered the Great Depression. -
Dachau is built
Dachau was the first concentration camp established by the Nazis. it was opened soon after Hitler came into power as Chancellor. It was in munich, and it mainly contained politacal prisioners, but it soon became a death camp where many jews died.
