France and Britain fought to control the colonial territory in North America. Each side was supported by numerous Native American tribes. -

The Stamp Act was passed by British Parliament, forcing American colonists to pay a tax on every page of printed paper they used, along with taxes on playing cards, dice, and newspapers. -
The Townshend Acts
The Townshend Acts taxed colonists for things like glass, lead, paper, paint, and tea. This led to the British boycotting many British goods. -
Boston Massacre
7 British soldiers fired into a crowd of colonists after the colonists had thrown snowballs and rocks at them, killing 5 and wounding another 6. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a protest on the British's tax on tea. Led by the Sons of Liberty, colonists boarded ships and threw chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. -

2 representatives from each colony except for Georgia met in Philadelphia to resist the Intolerable Acts put into place by British Parliament. I was also a key factor leading to the 13 colonies declaring independence from Britain.
