Crossing the Deleware
George Washington crosses the Deleware river to fight the mercinaries who are guarding Trenton. They beat the mercinaries and capture Trenton. Mercinaries are soldiers who are paid to fight against their own country. -
Battle at Saratoga
The British wanted to take all of New York from the Americans. They wanted three British generals to meet up at Saratoga and attack. The plan failed because one general never made it and another general had to surrender his army to the Americans.This battle convinced the French to ally with the America. -
Help from Overseas
France became the first nation to ally with America. Friedrich von Steuben's job was to train the American army. He was a general from Germany. -
Battle at Yorktown
Cornwallis is surronded by French and American troops and is forced to surrender. British ships were supposed to arrive to pick his troops up but they were defeated by the french navy. Yorktown was the final battel of the war. -
Treaty of Paris
The King wanted to fight but Parliment decided to give up. Benjamin Franklin and Samuel Adams were sent to negotiate peace. The Treaty of Paris is signed and America gets its freedom.
