The UK had control of India before Indian’s independence. India protested violently and nonviolently in order to reach their goal, and eventually the UK passed an act that divided India and Pakistan so that India was their own country now. -
Creation of Israel
David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel after the conflict between the Arabs. Israel and Arab states agree to armistice, and Israel gained about 50% more territory than was originally arranged. -

The Space Race led the Soviets to launch the first unmanned satellite into space, called Sputnik. The United States responds by donating millions of dollars to the science field and advancements. -
Bay of Pigs Invasion
The C.I.A trained Cuban exiles which an unsuccessful invasion to Cuba, known as the Bay of Pigs. They convince Soviets that the U.S. won’t resist their expansion in Latin America while the invaders are easily defeated. -
Assassination of Egyptian President Sadat
President Sadat was assassinated in 1981 by Omar Abdel-Rahman. President Sadat of Egypt has died after being shot by gunmen, led by Lieutenant Khalid Islambouli, who opened fire as he watched an aerial display at a military parade in Cairo. -
Tiananmen Square Protest
Students were part of a protest that took place in the Tiananmen Square to raise political reform. They fired on civilians and students, and 3,000 injured and more than 200 protestors were killed. -

Assassination of Prime Ministrer Yitzhak Rabin
Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was shot after attending a peace rally held in Tel Aviv’s Kings Square in Israel. Israeli police arrested the shooter, Amir-an Israeli extremist-, and explained the reason that he killed Rabin.
