Dunmore's Emanciaption Proclamation
Lord Dunmore granted any slave freedom if they fought in the Revolutionary War for the royal forces. It was formally proclaimed on November 14, 1775. It also demonstrates Great Britain's trend of fighting against slavery and racial injustice. -
Battle of Trenton
This battle was during the American Revolutionary war in Trenton, New Jersy. It was fought between the Americans and the Hessians and the British troops. It ended on December 26. This happened after the Americans were defeated in New York and forced to move to New Jersy. -
Battle of Saratoga
The Battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the Revolutionary War. It ended on October 17, 1777 when Birtish and Hessian troops surrendered. The battle was the impetus for France to join the war against Britain, which really helped Washington's Continential Army and provided them with supplies and support. -

This caused Americans to go from living under a king to living in sovereign states as soverign people. This change defined the American Revolution . This guided the nation until the US Constitution was created in 1789. -
Shay's Rebellion
Shays rebllion was brought on my financial difficulties due to the dpression, a hard currency, and harsh fiscal poliices instituted in 1785 to try to fix the reccession. The rebllion ended up being crushed, and failed in trying to reform the state government and overthrow it. -

The US Constitution is the supreme law and regulations for the United States of America. It is comprised of seven articles. It was written by the Philadelhia Convention, replaced the Articles of Confederation (1777), and was signed by 39 of the 55 delegates. -

The first presidential eledction lasted from 1788 till 1789. It was the first presidential election in the United States under the new Consitution. George Washington was elected president, and John Adams became the first vice-president. -

George Washington signed this as a replacment for the Freedom Ordiance, or the Ordinance of 1787. It reaffirmed the Ordinance with several modifications under the Constitution. -
The Compromise of 1790
Political compromises and accommodations that caused the Residence and Assumption Acts in July 1790. Rebulicans made a bargain, where they agreed to points 1-4 in exchange for permanent captial on the potomac. -
Cotton Gin Invented
Eli Whitney invented the mechanical cotton gin in the United States in 1793. This made it possible to make profit while farming and always increased slavery needed again, after all the abolition acts. Whitney's patent for the machine was not granted until 1807. -
Whiskey Rebellion
When Hamiliton, the treasury secretary, proposed a tax on whiskey produced in the US, whiskey rebels retaliated. They attacked and destroyed the home of a tax inspector. As the rebellion grew, federal forces got involved, and the rebellion ended. It did prove that Hamilton was a dangerous man. -
John Adams becomes 2nd President.
John Adams was elected the second president of the United States after serving as the first vice president of the United States. He was succeeded by Thomas Jefferson later. He was in office until March 4, 1801. -
The United States presdiential Election of 1800
Thomas Jefferson defeated president John Adams, and became the third president of the United States. John Adams was a federalist and Thomas Jefferson was a Democratic-Republican. It was a very long and bitter match. Thomas Jefferson won by about 35% of the votes. -
Lewis and Clark Expedition
Also known as the Corps of Discovery Expedition, the Louis and Clark Expedition was the first expedition to cross the western portion of the US. They made their way westward from the continential divide to the Pacific coast. It was commissioned by Thomas Jefferson shortly after the Louisiana Purchase. Army volunteers joined Clark and Lewis to help on their journey. -
Louisianna Purchase
The United States purchased about 828,000,000 square miles of territory from France, which doubled the size of their republic. It is considered one of the most important achievements of Thomas Jefferson's presidency. -
