Heliocentric Model of the Solar System
Copernicus invented the heliocentric model of the solar system. The model was introduced in Copernicus' book, On the Revolution of the Heavenly Bodies, which was pubslished while he was on his deathbed in 1543. Copernicus was the first to make a model that was designed with the sun as the center of the solar system. This invention was important because today, we know that his theory was right, that the sun is the center of the solar system. -

The knitting machine was invented by William Lee. It was made in England. This invention was impoprtant because you used it to knit together different peices of clothing. It helped with the making of fabrics. -

The first thermometer invented was made by Galileo. His invention was very useful. It also had a positive impact on the world. The thermometer was useful to scientists studying weather. It helped them meausre temperature easier and more accurately. Galileo's thermometer is different than the one we use today. It is different because it has water in it and ours doesn't. -

Cornelius Drebbel invented the first human-powered submarine. This invention was important because scientists could travel underwater without having to go into the ocean. It had a positive impact on research of underwater animals. -
Newton's Laws of Motion
Sir Issac Newton had three laws of motion. He tested his laws by dropping a feather and a bowling ball at the same time and seeing which one hit the ground first. His laws were very important because they taught us a lot about forces and motion. Without Newton's laws, we would not know as much about gravity as we do today. Athough, he also had a negative impact on the world because the laws of motion led to the invention of cars, which had a negative impact on the world. -

Bartolomeo Cristofori invented the piano. His invention was important because it helped musicians with their music. It gave them a new insturment to use. They could now play the piano during their songs.
